We Are Connected: Taíno Conference 2025

The Mayan Languages Preservation Project, in collaboration with Casa Areyto and Reencuentro Taíno, invites you to join us in participating in the 2025 Taíno Conference to celebrate language, culture, art, music, and more. Taíno descendants, Indigenous relatives, and allies will unite on August 9th via Zoom to share knowledge and strengthen cultural connections. Conference registration is free.

Be part of this historic conference by contributing a small part of your own language and culture in a message of solidarity. Our goal is to record the message, “We Are Connected” in as many Indigenous languages as possible. Your participation in recording this message of solidarity will be shared in a collaborative video during the conference and made available to UNESCO’s International Decade of Indigenous Languages (IDIL 2022-2032). By participating in this message in your language, you are helping to promote awareness of Indigenous languages and the need to preserve and revitalize our languages.
