SALT LAKE CITY, January 14, 2025 (krcl.org) – Music Meets Activism with Dulce Maria Horn of Mayan Languages Preservation. Horn is a community activist and organizer who works primarily with immigrant rights. Her journey as an activist began at the tender age of two when her father took her to her first anti-war protest. She graduated cum laude class of 2023 from Whittier College (Los Angeles, CA) with a Bachelor of Arts in Global and Cultural Studies and Spanish, with a minor in Political Science, and a thesis on Bad Bunny’s El Apagón. Listen as Horn shares her path from a youth leader and voter empowerment organizer with Comunidades Unidas to her current work helping to preserve, revitalize and digitize 29 Mayan languages — and a playlist to match.
